ROME (Reuters) – The Bodies of 21 women and one guy have been located on a rubber dinghy adrift near the Libyan coast on Wednesday, just hours after they had set sail for Italy, a humanitarian institution Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) stated.

However, 22 migrants have been determined useless at the lowest of the primary dinghy, lying in a pool of gas.

“It is still now not totally clean what befell, but they died a terrible death. It’s miles tragic,” stated Jens Pagotto, MSF Head of Venture for Search and Rescue Operations.

“Plainly, water and fuel blended together, and the fumes from this might had been enough for them to lose awareness,” he told Reuters by smartphone.

The survivors, maximum of them from West African states and Nigeria and Guinea, have been being delivered to Sicily alongside the dead and had been because of reaching the port of Trapani on Friday.

Italian authorities have reported a soar in the range of migrants who’ve left Libya this week on overcrowded boats searching for a better lifestyle in Europe, as humans smugglers take advantage of calm seas and hot summer weather.

More than 2,500 human beings were rescued on Tuesday and one frame was recovered, Italy’s coast protects stated. Nearly 600 people had been saved on Wednesday.
